Agroseguro: 90% of arable crop growers will renew their agricultural insurance

Agroseguro has recently published the results of its 2023 Perceived Quality Index survey, which measures policyholders’ satisfaction with their agricultural insurance policies. This survey, conducted with an expanded methodology due to the severity of the drought recorded in the 2023 campaign, reveals key data on the sector’s confidence in these coverages. The 2023 drought generated indemnities of almost 480 million euros in arable crops alone.

Increased confidence in agricultural insurance

In the arable crop insurance sector, producers have given an average score of 6.73 out of 10 to their insurance, the best rating in the last two years and 0.2 points higher than in 2017. In addition, 89% of the surveyed policyholders have confirmed their intention to renew their agricultural insurance policies for the 2024 campaign.

The survey also highlights the industry’s recognition of claims management. Particularly high ratings were obtained in key aspects such as:

  • Quality of the appraisal: 7.45 out of 10.

  • Promptness of compensation payments: 8.34 out of 10.

  • Quality of information provided: 9.12 out of 10.

The general director of Agroseguro, Sergio de Andrés, stressed that these results have been achieved “in an extremely difficult context, with more than 2 million hectares affected“.
