We attended the Agroseguro’s informative seminars
On January 19, Agroseguro held in Lleida an informative conference on fruit tree insurance in Catalonia. In this event the main figures of the previous year were reviewed, highlighting the historical figure of 769 million in indemnities to farmers and ranchers.
Xavier Joana, Territorial Director of Agroseguro in Catalonia, stressed the importance of taking out agricultural insurance, since in our lands more than 80% of the production is insured, with 671,000 tons protected and a capital of 917 million euros.
This year, the fruit tree line presents a series of technical improvements to optimize the allocation of farmers’ yields and differentiate those insured with high loss ratios from the rest of the producers. In this way, the aim is to prevent the latter from being harmed by farmers with a higher loss ratio.
