We attended Agroseguro's informative conferences
On 19 January, Agroseguro held an informative seminar on fruit tree insurance in Catalonia in Lleida. The event reviewed the main figures of the previous year, highlighting the historic figure of 769 million in compensation to farmers and ranchers.
Xavier Joana, Territorial Director of Agroseguro in Catalonia, stressed the importance of taking out agricultural insurance, given that in our lands more than 80% of production is insured, with 671,000 tonnes protected and a capital of 917 million euros.
This year, the fruit tree line presents a series of technical improvements to optimise the allocation of farmers' yields and to differentiate those insured with a high claims rate from the rest of the producers. In this way, the aim is to prevent the latter from being harmed by farmers with a higher claims rate.
