Advice in the field after the April frosts

PIB Group Iberia supports farmers after the frosts

It is common knowledge that the frosts at the beginning of April have been historic. They have caused losses of up to 100% of production. Night-time temperatures in the Ebro valley dropped to -6º C and were felt in important areas producing fruit trees -both stone and pome- in the province of Lleida, in the districts of La Litera and Bajo Cinca (Huesca) and in La Almunia de Doña Godina and Calatayud (Zaragoza). PIB Group Iberia's commitment to the agricultural sector

At PIB Group Iberia, we want to be at the side of the customers who have chosen us for their agricultural insurance. During this month we have made field trips, we have been trained and we have received the board of directors of Agrisurance to convey the concerns of farmers affected by these frosts.

Our agricultural experts on the ground

From day one, we have been by the side of the main party affected: the farmer. Our team of agricultural experts has been in constant contact with our customers, answering all their calls and queries, advising them when making parts, making field visits and managing their agricultural claims.

In order to optimise the response to such disasters, we ensure that our clients have adequate coverages in place, including subsidised agricultural insurance and personalised solutions for each farm. (Consult the agricultural insurance coverage).

Field training for the agricultural insurance department

In order to be able to manage a agricultural insurance It is necessary to understand what the farmer needs. It is essential that those who manage insurance and claims have first-hand knowledge of how loss adjusting works. For this reason, this month we have conducted field training for our entire agricultural insurance team.

During this training, our loss adjusters Dolors Gòdia and Jordi Martín taught managers and technicians everything there is behind a claim. The overall impression of this day has been very positive and the department of agricultural insurance He described it as «very interesting» and «very necessary for his work».

We welcome the Agroseguro board

On 12 April we received at our offices in Seròs part of the management team from Agrisurance.

We were visited by Sergio de Andrés, director of production and communication; Félix Novoa, director of the technical area; Almudena Guijarro, head of the studies department and Xavier Joana, territorial director of the Catalunya area.

We received them at our offices and after a short meeting we went to visit some of the fields affected by the frost. During the visit, we shared with them the concerns and comments of our customers about the frost compensation and the management of agricultural claims.

Commitment to our clients

We know that the customers who choose us do so because of our agricultural customer service. This is why we promise to be at the forefront of developments, offering personalised advice and solutions tailored to each farm. In addition, we recommend that farmers find out more about the Agricultural Insurance Scheme 2025, which introduces improvements in insurance cover and conditions (More information on the Farming Insurance Scheme 2025
